Is It an Anomaly?

Today's report

For just over a year in the mid-1960s, residents of a small Ohio River town in West Virginia filed roughly a hundred reports of the same thing: a grey, winged humanoid — standing around seven feet tall, with large eyes that reflected red in headlights — seen near an abandoned wartime munitions complex on the edge of town. The foundational account came from two couples who drove out to the site on a November night and described the figure lifting off and keeping pace with their car at highway speeds without ever flapping its wings. Witnesses over the following thirteen months included a local firefighter, a county deputy, farmers, and a National Guard officer. The sightings clustered around the old bunkers, but also appeared on rural roads and near a major river bridge. Then, on a December afternoon, that bridge collapsed during rush hour, killing 46 people. The creature reports stopped almost immediately after. Whether the timing is coincidence, omen, or something else entirely is a question the record doesn't cleanly answer.
